For your Easter weekend dreamscapes
Fall down the rabbit hole of your choice: door number one, door number two, or door number three.
While we might’ve outgrown the Easter bunny, nothing’s stopping us from wandering around our favourite gardens too. Start amongst the pointed trees of a secret garden deep in the hills of Umbria. Seek out the lost gardens of New York City or go for a little wander down Europe’s sunken lanes in search of ancient buried bounty. You might even stumble into a fairytale grotto.
And rather than hunting for chocolate eggs, seek out the real “Easter eggs” hiding in your own urban environment. Or take inspiration from the woman who spent her life hunting for lost wallpaper.
In Paris, you can hunt for a forgotten wine village or track down the lost river that runs beneath Messy Nessy’s Cabinet – and of course, you’re always welcome to sift through my latest found treasures at 19 Rue de Bièvre. Happy hunting!
If you’re in the mood for a less traditional Easter tradition, how about embracing Poland’s Śmigus-dyngus day of pouring water on your family members and spanking them with pussy willow? Yes, that’s a thing that you could be doing this weekend – a tradition I’ll explain further in the bonus entry of today’s 13 Things I Found on the Internet, fresh out of the oven.
Stay curious,
Nessy
