Meet Me After Class

The school bells are ringing and the annual rentrée ritual begins; sun-kissed Parisians have returned from their god-given right to an obscenely long summer holiday, and suddenly the city goes from ghost town to hive of activity.

There’s something the French got right about this annual rentrée renaissance: a second New Year in September, only with better weather. Fresh notebooks to ruin, new obsessions to acquire and rabbit holes to fall down. Even if your school days are long behind you, there’s something wonderfully reassuring about the idea that we can all still be beginners — that there is always time to learn something, make something, change our minds, or start over entirely.

In the words of George Eliot (aka Mary Ann Evans): “It is never too late to be what you might have been.”

As you might have heard, this rentrée, Messy Nessy’s Cabinet is doing a little beginning-again of its own. Two years after our tiny shop first appeared in the back streets of Paris, it’s stretching its legs, tripling its floor plan, and preparing to reveal a mysterious new world hiding just behind the curtain.

Thirty days to go!

Messy Nessy’s Cabinet 2.0 opens to the public on October 1st. Let the countdown begin.

Until then, meet me after class — we’ve got a few rabbit holes to fall down…

Take a hall pass and join the secret 1930s Cambridge rooftop climbers.

And take this detour before you start your homework.
