Parisian Pyjama Party (take 2)

I hope this weekend dispatch (a second attempt with working links) finds you comfortably hibernating, perfecting the Sunday art of lounging in bed, perhaps even pretending to finish (writing or reading) that novel. But of course, one must dress for the occasion...

Plot twist: there’s a new addition to the Paris Writers & Readers Club uniform; the latest chapter in our collaboration with Figaret – presenting our first ever pyjamas, beautifully tailored by the French heritage shirtmakers, trimmed with bold red piping, and finished with our “Paris Writers and Readers and DREAMERS Club” crest on the pocket.

For those who believe inspiration strikes hardest at 2AM, ideal for “working on your manuscript” or dramatically sighing at your blank notebook, these pyjamas are worthy of a Left Bank literary salon — if salons were hosted in bed.

The catch is, this is a very limited edition collection, so we don’t expect to have them in stock very long, so if you’re thinking about gifting yourself a pair – excuse the pun, but –don’t sleep on it!

Oh, and here’s me, giving them a test run around the streets of Paris in a fever dream:

I might even wear them to our next Paris Writers & Readers Club meeting with Ollivier Pourriol, whose book The French Art of Not Trying Too Hard feels like a direct endorsement of pyjama attendance. Oysters will also be involved, because even in loungewear we maintain standards.

In other news from our little universe, we debuted our Christmas window this week — a shimmering nod to the tradition of the Mummers, those masked revelers who once roamed door to door performing chaotic little plays in exchange for warmth (or wine). Take a peek here.

And speaking of Christmas legends, the search continues for the lost decorations from Hollywood's most envied Christmas tree.

Seeking a holiday adventure? Hitch a ride to the North Pole in a hot air balloon or take a winter’s weekend stroll with the real ice queens who conquered the cold in corsets

But for the committed hibernator, relax, order a cocktail from the skating waiters of 1930s St. Moritz and settle into this week’s 13 Things I Found on the Internet Today, best enjoyed with hot cocoa and chic Parisian pyjamas.

Stay curious,
