Your Cote d’Azur Time Machine

Jump in! We might not have invites to the red carpets of the Cannes Film Festival this week, but how about a little armchair travelling?

For a glamorous escape, let’s call it film night with one of my 13 Movies for a Nostalgic European Summer.

Get some sand between our toes with the likes of Picasso, Hemingway, Scott & Zelda and pals for a mad beach party on the Cote d’Azur circa 1923. Party til dawn with the Rolling Stones at their French villa of debauchery

Take a few French Riviera style tips from a photographer’s forgotten muse. While we’re at it, we should probably start practicing our summer photo goals as demonstrated by the 1920s Morris Mermaids

Head for the hills to the French villages overlooking the Mediterranean and summer with the surrealists in Mougins. Look out for Sylvette, Picasso’s mysterious teenage muse in Vallauris. After dark we can go stargazing from an otherworldly moonscape

If you need more tips for village hopping in the hills behind the French Riviera, make a stop here first. And don’t forget, you have my address books for the curious traveller along the Côte d’Azur, the rest of France, Europe and worldwide in the A-Z Directory

The concierge (that’s me) is also available to help you out with bespoke travel advice & research for your summer plans.
